The BCSP Foundation’s 2021 Research and Innovation Summit featured three days of roundtable discussion sessions.
Experts from diverse backgrounds and industries across the field of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) research attended each session.
The Summit provided an opportunity for participants to actively shape the future of safety by examining current issues in the industry. The outcomes from the sessions will determine the areas of focus for the BCSP Foundation’s Research and Innovation grants, SHIFT journal, and Summit 2023. The attendees focused on the accomplishments of current research, future opportunities, barriers, and needs.
The following are a summary of the most common concerns:
- The impact of mental health in the workplace.
- Visual literacy.
- Preventing safety consequences of the distracted worker.
- Safety resources for small businesses.
- Effective use of artificial intelligence, wearable sensors, and automation.
